Nester is a groundbreaking Peer-to-Peer (P2P) investment platform, redefining the way individuals engage with their financial futures. As Lead Designer, I managed the team which was responsible for conceiving and designing the investor web platform. Collaborating with numerous stakeholders to research and develop cohesive design plans, concepts and prototypes. We incorporated previous design principles and the design system that I created showcased in other Nester projects in this portfolio.

As with any exciting new proposition, creating an excellent digital experience is paramount. Working in fortnightly sprints as Lead UX/UI Designer I took a collaborative design approach and worked closely with the Junior UX/UI designer, developers and the business’ Product Owners to finesse proposed user journeys and create high-fidelity prototypes ahead of user testing and refinement.

Over +70% of the website traffic is made with desktop devices as most users use the native mobile app when investing on our platform. from their mobile device. However it was important to design responsively and I took this into account since the start of the project by making sure the team created easily scalable layouts and assets.

The released version of the new investor platform has been well received by our customers. Stepping up to the role of lead designer was a great experience, guiding the team through the design process, coordinating workflow, reviewing work and providing constructive feedback was a big learning curve. We were able to achieve our goals and meet our release deadline. There are still improvements that can be made. A watchlist and the ability to share opportunities would help to personalise the investing experience for users. We have built a foundation that allows us to build on top of, the implementation of a responsive design system and the patterns created give room for future enhancements of the product as we constantly strive to improve our investor’s experience.
